Bad Faith Litigation
Immediately prior to joining our firm, Ms. Blanton operated a solo practice for over five years, with offices located in Florida and North Carolina, where she handled a variety of cases involving the full litigation of civil, commercial, immigration and criminal matters. In addition, she traveled across the United States and Canada in an advisory capacity for a large door and window manufacturer, offering legal advice and civil treatment training to Plant Managers. Prior to solo practice, Ms. Blanton spent over ten years in private practice in South Florida, the majority of which was devoted to the defense of healthcare providers accused of medical negligence. She was also afforded the opportunity to litigate hundreds of civil cases involving automobile negligence, civil rights violations, premises liability, construction defects, and employment practices. In addition, Ms. Blanton gained valuable experience in fraud detection litigation, while working closely with the special investigation units of several large insurance companies. Before joining the private sector, Ms. Blanton began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami, Florida, where she handled numerous felony and misdemeanor jury trials, and obtained specialized training in Juvenile, Domestic Violence and Mental Health.
In addition to the practice of law, Ms. Blanton has served as an instructor in continuing education for insurance claims professionals, authoring materials and presenting in Florida, North Carolina and Texas. She also serves as a continuing legal education instructor for the National Business Institute, most recently presenting seminar materials related to litigation involving electronic discovery.
