When John Mauro merged his practice with the firm in 1987, he had already been handling medical malpractice and professional liability cases for nine years. His single-minded focus on these practice areas has resulted in an impeccable trial record.
Representing two of the nation's largest hospital corporations and numerous insurance companies, Mr. Mauro defends individual physicians and hospitals and other healthcare providers in medical negligence cases. He also handles medical staffing litigation and counseling, and represents healthcare professionals before the Department of Health and the Board of Medicine.
Mr. Mauro has also been retained to represent the retail sellers of the diet drug combination Phen Fen in a number of cases throughout Florida. Mr. Mauro is frequently asked by both hospital and insurance clients to conduct seminars and in-service presentations on a wide variety of topics. These topics have included overviews of Florida law, risk management, and medical documentation.
